This year the NAC is returning to Cincinnati for another great display of fencing. The dates are as follows:
Division II, Division II, Veteran and Wheelchair Cincinnati, Ohio March 16-19, 2012
Regular entry deadline: Jan. 30
The USFA will be looking for volunteers to help with registration and administration during the event and they look to local enthusiasts to provide that support! Mark you calendars, more will be coming on this as we move along.

Now that the new year has begun, all CFC members need to renew their annual dues. As most of you know, we charge a nominal amount to maintain equipment and upkeep our practice space and so we keep our fees as low as possible.
Adult members must pay $50.00 and Youth or Students pay $25.00. That is a once annual price, which you can't beat!
So everyone should be aware that over the next couple of months the club will be asking you to renew your membership for what should be a great new year.

Two weeks ago Leonard finished in 2nd place in a Columbus Epee tournament, securing a 'C' rating for himself! Everyone needs to make sure that they take the time to let him know how proud the club is of him... and now we expect so much more!

Just to remind our membership, the regularly scheduled Center closures are listed on the homepage of this website. Going forward, emergency closures due to weather will also be posted on this page, and the club will also strive to contact membership by email. However, not all participants have email addresses on file. And, of course, you should always use your best judgement for safety during in-climate conditions, even if the Center is open please be safe and responsible! |

We are nearing the end of the year and elections will be held during the beginning of December to determine the club officers starting in January 2012. At present all three incumbents will be running for another term, but we don't have to run alone! If anyone would like to make nominations, of themselves or of others, they may do so at anytime by emailing President Nate Miller at any time before elections. Ballots will be distributed through email to all members with valid email addresses on file and can be submitted back to the club through the ballot form. |

Next Monday is, of course, Halloween. While I certainly understand the desire to either hand out or collect candy, anyone who still wants to get in some fencing is more than welcome! The Rec center will be open as usual and there will at least be a few of us spoiling for a fight!
I hope everyone has a safe and scary holiday!

As of this month (June) Ed Wright and his Cincinnati Fencing Academy have moved their operations from our home floor, and so he will no longer be running our Monday evening club warmups or giving private lessons at the Clifton Recreation Center.
Going forward, the volunteer coaches of the fencing club are now expanding our programming to include ongoing instruction for fencers graduating from our introductory classes, as well as for experienced fencers looking to hone their skills.
We all look forward to an exciting new prospect to further emphasis the importance of good form, good sportsmanship, and club unity. All club members are welcome to take part in the lessons for no additional cost and experienced members are more than welcome to help guide newer participants.
